Your Mersman 8-Legged table was popular starting in the 30s and going into the 50s.
My mother had a similar table from the 30s.
Comments from appraisers show this as a not so popular design since the 50s and some even say many people look at these as being 'gothic' in design.
I would consider listing it with a higher starting price - $200 - $300 just to test the market in your area.
Usually, pieces like this are listed as 'local pick up only' as shipping would be very expensive.
You cannot always compare pieces like this to 'similar' pieces because there are usually too many differences.
You can list on more than one site as most sites (except eBay and Etsy) do not charge you to list items but do charge a percentage if your item sells on their site.
Thank you for your reply. I dont plan on selling the table as it is more of a sentimental piece inherited from my husbands grandmother. I just wanted to get more information on the age and possible value as it seems to be a bit unusual in its design and style.
