I inherited this 63 piece dinner service, including matching coffee service, from my Grandparents. I now wish to sell as am downsizing and no room. Can someone please advise approximate value and the year/decade of manufacture as have been unable to find another the same on the internet.
Many thanks

This timeless set is called Noritake Valiere
# 4981 , produced 1933 - 1953 -(note) - replacements seems to be the only site close to having most but not all of the pieces you have in stock. This link does give what they charge , that is mostly consignment sale, from others whom sold to or waiting to sell.
Hi Anna, Thank you for your reply. It certainly opened up new avenues for me to explore. However the pattern you suggested it was (Valiere #4981) is, unfortunately, definitely not the same as mine. Mine is a much more ornate than Valiere. Guess I still have to continue my research. Thank you.
This is,I believe, one of the Noritake goldana patterns. Replacements.com says it was made from 1945 - 1952. There are a lot of sold pieces on eBay. Each piece averages a different price. It is almost impossible to sell these as a set because the young people don't want them. The older folks only want replacement pieces.
Sometimes consignment stores will sell the set for you. Although my favorite local places refuse sets. Maybe it is different where you are.
Post back how your sale goes! Have a blessed holiday!
Please post/add a picture of the marks on your pieces. This is best done with a full, clear picture of the back/bottom of a full plate.
Someone will help with your question but the marks are needed to date and identify your china.
The mark on the back of china is the only sure way to find when that specific china was produced. Your china does not appear to be Goldana #4789 as this has a different design on the tops/lids of the bowls/sugar bowl but not sure what else is different from your pattern. This Goldana #4789 was Made in Occupied Japan and was only made from 1948-1950 according to Noritake history.
This means your pattern may be Godlana #7284 but since I cannot see the marks I cannot say when this was made.
Replacements has 2 Goldana patterns listed but they never show marks so it is difficult to know for sure.
This listing looks different than yours as the tops/lids are not the same pattern.

This one also shows a different top/lid so I do not know if Replacements has them mixed up since I cannot see the marks and replacements does have a few errors which is only natural when the designs are so close.

Since there appears to be only a small difference in patterns I would say that it would not make a difference in this case.
Sets are very difficult to sell but if you wish to try you can always list your set and use 'pick up only' so there would be no shipping involved. You could start your price high with best offer considered and lower it if no one makes an offer.
Your Noritake china is really beautiful. There are many patterns in Noritake and you may contact them and they may be able to help you.

There is one way to make it easier for you on replacement.com. You need to upload a really good photo of your plate that shows the design. They have a search feature that you can use to search this site for your design. If you have an issue there I do believe that you can contact them for some help. Also on Google, they have a reverse image search where you can upload the image of the design and do a reverse image search. A lot of time this gets really good results. I tried on both sites but because the images are not that good I was not able to find anything to help you out.
This is also a very good site to help you identify your patter. I did not see this one there. However, you might want to send this person an email and a photo of your pattern and see if she has any information that could help you narrow down your search. www.invaluable.com/
Thank you very much. Will try your suggestions - or rather will give the lovely man who has just bought it these suggestions.
Replacements.com can give you the retail value. They will offer you much less if you sell it to them.
