I am just curious if my 1973 Thomasville bedroom set is worth anything or needs to be put in a yard sale?

Advertise Craigs list first, describing what you have, there is a good market for Thomasville furniture! Or check and see if you can auction these great pieces!
Even though Thomasville is an excellent brand, this type of furniture is out of fashion. People are giving it away by me on Freecycle. Try asking $400 and see if anyone counteroffers.
I think you are correct. I put it on Facebook market for $300 and no takers. I just want to get rid of it now. Thank you for your reply
This is still very nice furniture and does sell in some areas.
I would suggest you break it up into smaller sets and list it that way.
Chest of drawers by itself.
I would take good pictures and list these pieces on several sites at one time and you will probably net at least a couple hundred dollars.
Start your prices at $150 for the chest and same for dress and mirror.
$75 for night stands and $49 for headboard.
If you least these on Craigslist, USA4Sale, LetGo, OfferUp with good pictures you may be successful. Least on all and remove the listing if any sales.
Lower the price when you want to.
If you could wait several months for a sale, you could probably list them on eBay (local pick up only) for several thousand just to see what the market is in your area.
"Brown" furniture is not all that popular but Thomasville is a very good name and it is being sold just not quickly.
I am sad to hear that the market for these where you are does not bear a $300 asking price. Where I am it is the same.
Do you have a consignment store in your town that would take them on a commission basis? That would get them out of your house and into a place where people can see them and allow the time for the right buyer to pay for them.
You may fetch a little more that way.
If you are needing to get rid of them immediately, I also suggest selling them off by the piece. In Western PA you may fetch $35 each for the dressers and $10-15 each for the rest of the pieces.
Sadly I see good furniture like Thomasville out by the curb all the time. Western PA is a high supply, low demand area.
The other suggestion I have is do you have a church or other religious organization that takes furniture donations to help parishioners get back on their feet?
If you are able to take the tax credit, that may be a win win for you.
Furniture is tough sell in most of the US. Especially "brown" furniture. I hope you find a good solution!
I am interested in purchasing just the queen headboard. Is it Fisher Park and is it still available?
