I have a 1949 Webster's New Collegiate dictionary based on Webster's New International dictionary, second edition. What is it worth? I tried doing some research and can't seem to find one exactly like it. I did find some hardcover ones, but not one like mine. It seems to be in pretty good condition. It has a leather like red brown binding, gold lettering with thumb tabs, and thin paper.

Books like these have value when they are first editions or are over 100 years old. Yours is neither. You can still take it to a dealer for a free appraisal
what a beautiful book. Too bad that some of the pages are bent. Aside from that, depending on values of what other books are going for on ebay and in antiquity shops and such.
Did you get a bid for your book yet? I am curious what you learned. I have been checking eBay periodically and none have come up for sale that are identical.
You could let the market set the value by listing it on eBay in a 30 day fixed price, best offer auction and start it for $100 and then see if people make offers. Take the best one.
Most have NOT held their value, which is sad, but I have found the technique above works well for the potential outlier of item that I am not able to find an identical one to get a sold value for it.
Sometimes I am pleasantly surprised by what things fetch, sometimes it is sad, when I have something listed for $100 and someone says I'll give you 2 bucks.
Market dictates values...something can have a "value" of a million dollars, but if no one coughs up a million dollars for it, the value to you is ZERO!!
Curious to learn what you learned!! Post back!!
