I have a Webster's Handy Dictionary Illustrated, copyright 1877. It looks old and is pre-owned. The pages are in good condition, but the cover is a little damaged. Can anyone tell me about how much this is worth?

It can be worth up to $150. Take it to an antique book dealer for a free appraisal.
Etsy is selling one in good condition for $47.00. I feel you could do better at auction!
eBay sold prices show that pristine ones sell for $20 plus shipping and ones with some condition issues have sold for as low as $12.
People ask all kinds of crazy prices for these, but they never get it. Sellers are getting lower prices though as evidenced by the number of sold versions of it.
These are sold prices so that is what the market bears at the moment.
It seems so many people have the idea that just because something is old, even over 100 years it should be valuable and probably 'rare'.
Since the Internet came in, this is no longer true as you can easily see by how many of this 1877 book is still available.
You can check eBay's sold listings for a good idea of current value but since no two antique/vintage books will be the same, this is just a slim guide for value.
Take a look at the same title books that have sold over the pass several months but take notice of the pictures and descriptions.
Almost or all of the sold books have a decent cover.
