I have a set of 1937 World Popular Encyclopedias. I wonder what they are worth?

They are worth virtually nothing. Donate them and take the tax deduction.
There were several different bindings and type of bindings and overall condition will have an effect on overall value. If you plan to have pick up only, then your location will also have effect on value as some areas are just not interested in encyclopedias for any price while others may be willing to pay.
There are several sets listed on eBay and other sites but you may wish to place a 'watch' on eBay listings or just check once in a while to see if any sold. Asking prices do not mean current value as only a sold set would be value as it shows what someone was willing to pay for an item.
No sets have sold on eBay over the past several months.
We also have no way to tell how long any of these sets have been listed for sale - months? Years?

Amazon also has some sets listed for sale. Sold? no way to tell.

Here is a set listed for sale on LetGo:

By research you can see there is no real way to give you a current value as the only sold set that I found was in 2018 for $23.
You may just wish to list your set on several 'local' sites like Craigslist, LetGo, OfferUp and others with local pick up only and see what response you receive. Start your price higher and lower it if no interest is shown.
You will need several good pictures.
Today the value of books like this is determined by how old the books are. If they are over 100 years old the books hold a value that collectors will pay for. Books under this age do not hold much value at all. Many people call these worthless and tell people to donate them or give them away for a tax write off. The only problem with this is the fact that schools and other places will not accept them any longer.
I would try to list them on Craigslist in your area and see if you can get $25 to $50 for the set. That seems to be the going price for these types of books.
