I received this table as someone offered it for free. It's described as a Chinese 19th century eight immortals table. I saw that there is a sticker from an auction. So, I assume it went through an auction. I just wanted to know whether this is still worth anything.

WOW! I have been selling and reselling items for over 50 years and this is the very first time I have heard the term Old Chinese Hardwood 8 Immortals Table. I had to google it.
You are going to need a furniture expert to help you figure out what you have. Maybe one of the other posters to this site knows more about this than I do, so I am going to follow this conversation closely.
I do hope cybergrannie weighs in on this. She has a lot of knowledge and always gives good online places for you to seek guidance.
The first thing that needs to be done is to validate it is indeed a 19th century piece and not a reproduction piece. Not that repro pieces do not have value--some do--but it is critical to know exactly what you have on your hands.
Are you in a town where there are several reputable antique stores that you can take the table and have it looked it? That would be my first step recommendation.
I can tell you that what you have appears to be in poor condition and condition is one of the biggest thing that people look for in valuing their pieces. When you are talking to the experts, it may be good to inquire if a refinishing would hurt or help with the value.
I am excited to learn more about what you have and will look forward to the discussion and determination!
Thanks for sharing!
Hello, thanks for feedback. The table is rather heavy so transporting back and forth would be a challenge. Cybergrannie suggested an online source I can try for appraisal and I will try that first. I don't think there's many auction places in my area. I'll try online first and go from there. Thanks again.
Since it is over 100 years old it is an antique, so it should have some value. The condition is not good. Another factor affecting value is who manufactured it.
Something rather new to me but I have seen a table called 19th Century Eight Immortals but it was in a museum and very beautiful. We were told the number (8 in this case) meant the table was designed to seat eight people.
I have no ideas about this table and although the conditions looks rather shabby it may still be of value.
I use free online appraisal services and usually get excellent information.
This can be a little trouble but unless you can haul it around to several antique shops this is probably your best bet. Better to find out than regret it later.

If you decide to post to several of these sites you will need better/different pictures.
Pictures you have are okay but they do not show the whole/complete table and this is a must. Several full pictures - Looking down at the top to show complete table top - full pictures each side - several showing damage but not so close up that table is hard to see - include the pictures you have posted also.
You will need complete measurements - length/height/sides
You may have somewhat of a treasure so I hope you will post back with any information you acquire.
Hello, thanks for your all feedback and suggestions on my post. And thanks for providing resource. I'll definitely look into it and take better pictures and get exact measurements!
