I have a Murphy 311 2 door cedar wardrobe with inside light and 2 skeleton keys. It is in excellent condition! I am not wanting to sell it, but am curious about the value?

This one is asking $489. www.etsy.com/
I love these items. They are work horses and will last for a lifetime!
Some of the big box stores, like Chairish offer these up for top dollar--up to $500. They are always for sale so I am assuming they are not selling that often.
The only example I can find of one that is an almost identical piece to yours was one sold a few years ago on EBTH (an auction site) for $1. That was so sad. The value answer lies somewhere in between but it is complicated.
The complication is to find the right market--the under 40 crowd in most parts of the country (if you are in the US) don't want big or brown furniture, so these are often passed by in the marketplace.
The over 40 crowd has their own, or their parents or grandparents items just like this that they want to get rid of and they will see this in the market and sigh because they are needing to get rid of one also.
There are always people who (like me) like classic pieces--but you have to find the RIGHT person who has the space and the cash, they way to get it to their house and set up, and then once they pay you, you will know the value because no matter what you ask, most people will say will you take (and offer a lot less).
In my town you could probably get up to $25, but in a city where these are still sought after, you may get $100. I am curious to watch the Chairish ones and see how long they will sit, before the red slashes show up with the new reduced pricing.
Enjoy yours!! It will last forever!!
