I have a Betty Jane Carter Doll - Catherine, and it plays "Bach's Minuet" . It is a limited edition 258/1000 912732. It has never been removed from the box and I would like to know how much it is worth. I have no need for this doll and it was given to me from my grandmother.
Thank you.

Pretty dolls but dolls have been overproduced for many years and the market is flooded with thousands of very similar dolls - most of them still new in the box with COA.
There are thousands of similar dolls listed on sites for less than $5 and very few are selling. Some dolls will sell for $15-$45 but the sold number is a very low percentage of the total number listed.
Sellers list dolls and keep them listed for months and even years so when we a sold doll we have no way to tell how long that doll has been up for sale - maybe a month or maybe 2 years.
Dolls are not usually on anyone's "wanted" list as girl's are into higher tech items (like yourself maybe?) and have no use for dolls - even inherited ones.
There is a very good article on this brand on the ThriftyFun site so you might find useful information here:

eBay is the largest doll selling site in the world and usually the best place to research value on any brand doll. You can check their listings for Betty Jane Carter dolls to see if your doll is listed for sale or place a watch on a similar doll to see if they sell.
It seems the most popular Betty Jane Carter dolls are the dressed up animals and also clowns.
Here is a link to the Betty Jane Carter dolls presently listed for sale on eBay.
Just remember that asking prices are what a seller would like to receive for their doll but sold prices are the only price you can consider as 'current value' because that price is what someone is willing to pay at the present time.

Here is a link to dolls sold on eBay over the psst several months so you can get a general idea of how much people are paying for this brand doll. It appears that the largest portion sold happens to be the animals and clowns.

Here is a listing for your exact doll. The asking price is very high but this is a new seller so this may account for the price.
Maybe there is something more valuable about your doll that is not being discussed? I would suggest you place a watch on this doll to see how it goes.

I usually check Replacements for value but they do not have any of this brand in stock right now but that just tells me they were not selling and Replacements is not buying any more of this brand.

You can always check Google for dolls and click on any picture to see if it is still for sale or if it sold.

Cybergrannie has given you the most comprehensive info on value (or sadly lack of) for your lovely gal.
You don't mention if you are in the US or not. If you are in the US selling her online will be a nightmare if you have to ship because she is so fragile and the box to protect her will need to be huge. The new DIM mailing makes it outrageous to ship large items.
If you have a good consignment store in your town that either buys outright or does a 50/50 split, I suggest trying to take her there. Now is the time to get her into a store as people are starting Christmas shopping. She may or may not sell, but that is your best bet to try.
Post back how it goes!
Most of these dolls sell for less than $25, if they sell at all.
Betty Jane Carter makes dolls in bulk or what others call mass-production dolls. They are sent to all types of local markets such as Target or similar markets to be sold. During the holidays people buy these types of dolls for their grand kids or their children. However, the value decreases and the market is now flooded with dolls just like this. There are some people who just want to get rid of the doll and will ask only $1 for the doll.
This beauty should be an auction doll to get the best price, this doll was made well and plenty of them. Maybe because of her beauty she could go over that $10 to $25 price!
