Can anyone tell me about this table? I bought it at an auction and was going to either refinish it or chalk paint until my sister told me not to and to find out what it's worth.

This is a beauty! I could not find one just like this one. I have a link to a company that carries one similar, also they have a few Brandt tables offered at different prices. Take a look at this one - www.chairish.com/
I think Im going to sell this one and get a farmhouse style table and change my theme for my dining room. I need a bigger one anyway. Thank you!
It is a good idea to not paint or refinish this table because it will decrease the real value of the table. Wait a little bit and post this table in your area for sale.
Especially at the moment with the world in a shambles, these pieces are in the highest of demand. In good days, and in most places in the US, these tables sell for between $80 and $200. Furniture sales are regional so you would need to talk to a local reseller in your town to find out if you are high supply, low demand or low supply and high demand. These are the two biggest reasons for value differences.
I get upset when people tell people not to paint things. If you love it and want to paint it, you should enjoy it the way you want to.
Furniture was meant to be enjoyed. Yes, maybe you could make a profit on it--not sure what you paid for it or what you could sell it for in your town.
But if the thought is that you are going to hold on to it and it will be something your child will be able to retire on if they sell in 30 years, that almost definitely will not happen--painted or unpainted. Why, because there were thousands and thousands and thousands of these made so they are not rare. Even if a bunch of them got trashed in the next 30 years, there are still going to be a lot left as these are sturdy pieces that were built to last.
Post back what you decide!!
Edit...Should read are not in high demand. Ty!

I found an interesting link with info about Brandt Furniture, which was established in Hagerstown, Md., in 1901, though it went out of business in 1985. Former employees organized to reopen the factory in 1986, and they continue to operate it as a small family business to this day.
You can expect to get what you would for a nice table - around $200 to $400 for it.
i read an article like that too when i was "googling" this table. Well i scratched it moving it to my office the other day. Im not good with nice things lol. I think Im just going to sell it to someone who can appreciate it. Thank you all for your input!! Its much appreciated!
