Can anyone tell me the value of this Chinese porcelain vase? It is 40 cm in height and it has a Chinese character on the bottom.
Thank you in advance.

The symbol is important to determine if it is Chinese or Japanese, but I can tell you after starting down the path of trying to learn more about oriental art to see if I wanted to add it to my reselling business, that identifying pieces is extremely challenging and even people who know a lot still have trouble with identifying pieces.
What is helpful is knowing the provenance. How long you have had it even where you are located.
The challenges are two fold....many new pieces have been made to look old and even use markings similar to the old and valuable pieces. There was such a huge influx of Japanese pieces in the US market after WW II and then a huge influx of Chinese pieces starting in the 1980s.
My best suggestion is to join a Facebook group like www.facebook.com/
Once you know what you have, I can help you value it and offer tips on the best way to sell, pack, ship.
Let me know what you learn!! Thanks for asking!
Please add a picture of the marking on the bottom and any provenance/information about the vase you may know.
You did not give a lot of info , to try an locate, price, and approximate age. All of the things are helpful in finding info.
