I have a 1983 Coleco Cabbage Patch Kid doll named is Stephen Elwin. It is brand new in the box, with the birth certificate and everything, but the front plastic. It is very rare. How much is it worth?

Only the original signed Xavier Roberts ones are expensive. This one is not.
It's signed
Some of the 1983 Kids are selling for fair money but if you check eBay listings you will find over 28,000 Cabbage Patch dolls and accessories listed with asking prices all over the board. Some are ridiculous and others may be okay for the particular doll listed.
eBay doll listings and more will be added every day until Christmas.

A high number have been sold (over 7,000) over the past several months but most of the paid prices are in the $15-$30 bracket.

I did not find a Steven but that is not unusual due to the many thousand dolls that were produced.
If you believe your doll is rare then I would suggest you list him at $100 or more and see what happens - someone may know more than we do and he may be one of the more valuable ones.
Be sure to take several very good pictures of the doll and tags.
Also check true shipping costs so you will not be surprised if they are incorrect.
You can also list him on local sites like Craigslist, LetGo, OfferUp and many more and you can list him as pick up only with shipping cost involved.
Good luck - I hope he is one of the valuable ones.
The doll is in great condition but the box is not. Many people who pay a higher price for these dolls want a box that is in good condition. Plus there are a lot of these dolls on the market right now for sale. The ones that people look for are the ones that were signed by the maker of the doll.
Your little guys has sold prices between 8 and 35 dollars. The 8 is without the box. The 35 is a pristine box, untouched doll. Yours should fetch in between because the celling missing.
Post back how your sale goes.
Cellophane...not celling. Thanks!
