I bought this over 10 years ago at my local Habitat for Humanity store for $180. It has 6 rattan arm chairs and the table can be used as an oval or round w/1 leaf. It also came with an oval piece of glass. When replacing the table I discovered a partial maker's mark under the table. I've not been able to find anything comparable online. Can someone help identify and perhaps put a value on it?

If nobody had changed the base on the table it would be worth some money. I can see by the base of the table and the cut of the wood that the table has been repaired. You can see where a person has cut another piece of wood and tried to repair the table and has put a screw in the back of the table. I fear that the price of this table won't be worth much at all in the condition it is in.
Thanks so much for all the information. I was surprised to find the mark user the table in the first place. It was nice to know a little about its history.
I'm going to voice my opinion about this table and chairs but I am not an expert so not sure that any information will be correct - just my thoughts gathered from lots of research.
The table top appears to be authentic Conant Ball but I'm not sure about any of the other pieces.
I do not believe this is a Conant Ball pedestal that is attached to the table as I'm not sure Conant made any furniture in this shape - they specialized in round/curves - no 'square/sharp' designs.
I'm not sure the chairs are Conant Ball (unless they have their mark) as from research the only 'cane' bottom chairs Conant made seems to have been in an entirely different style. I could be wrong on this but I think the chairs may be valuable where as the table may just be described as an older heavy table.
I think the seats on these chairs are called 'rush' and not cane or bamboo or ?
Take a look at these chairs for comparison:
Yours may not be this valuable but still maybe more than regular dining chairs.

If you do not receive any more information on this site I can only suggest you post some good pictures of your chairs (not the table) and see if someone can tell more about them.
You can also receive a really great appraisal for $20 from this site:

This is a difficult one. It has changes and missing piece? Conant is very collectable and you got a good deal with this purchase. Any changes to a original piece can change the value. You can contact a furniture dealer/appraiser for concrete answers.
Hi! Can you show a better photo so I can see what was done where you only see part of the logo? I am not sure what I am seeing and I hate to make a judgement without knowing what is going on.
This is a really pretty set! Hope to help when I learn more.
Ive taken several new photos and I think Ive figured out what may have happened to the table. It looks like the original device that separates the table in order to add the leaf broke and a new one was installed.
Ive taken several new photos and I think Ive figured out what may have happened to the table. It looks like the original device that separates the table in order to add the leaf broke and a new one was installed. As for the additional piece added to the under base, Im clueless! Its just a thin piece of particle board. Ive not figured out how to add the additional photos though. Please advise if you know. Thanks.
That is helpful to know. Contant Ball is a storied name in furniture, I think it was either 1980 or early 1980s that they closed.
Your piece is most likely a later piece--although some would call it mid century modern--but to me it is more 1960s or 1970s, which is post MCM.
Are the chairs also marked Conant? I am thinking they are not original to the set and depending on their condition and if they have a maker, they may be worth more than the table. It would help to know more about the chairs also as there are some brands, like Hitchcock chairs where the set could get get $2000 on their own if they are in good shape (without the table).
Furniture sales are regional so my best guidance for you is to ask around to local consignment stores of how much it would cost to buy the chairs and the table and that would be retail. You could expect to get up to 1/2 of that if you are selling on your own.
You would have to disclosure the damage/repairs to the table and that will devalue significantly (sadly).
You can always start high if you are going to sell and see if someone would pay $1500 for table and $2000 for the chairs and then be happy if you made your investment back. I say this without knowing who made the chairs and with the knowledge that the table has significant repairs (now the glass top will add a little to the value as long as it is in good shape).
These rush type chairs are hip at the moment....so when you are taking to your local people--be sure to find out if you should separate the set--and be sure to see if they have a maker mark on them.
Post back what you learn!! Thanks for sharing!
There should be an "Upload an Image" link at the bottom of the feedback box, with a little graphic of a camera. If that isn't working for you, email them to images@thriftyfun.com and I can add them for you. Just remind me of what page you wish to have them added to.
Thanks!
Hi,
Looking at how pretty this table is, I think you could get $70.00 for it. People like these types of tables!
Have a great day!
