I have a 9 drawer dresser. It's a Dixie 70-3 TPL.DR, made In Sweden. Is it worth anything? I am looking to sell it, but have no idea when it was made. I also have a night stand.

Dixie furniture is an excellent mark and it really holds its value over the years. I would suggest that you try and sell the dresser and nightstand as a set to start off with and start a listing price of around $350-400 for the set. Keep in mind that furniture sales are based on where you live and if people in your area are still buying this type of furniture for their home. In some areas, this might sell for as low as $100 for the two pieces.
So your piece is a mystery to me and I have a question in to the museum in Davidson County, NC where Dixie used to be located to see if they ever made furniture in Sweden.
The piece looks like the true Dixie signature, however, nothing in any my history shows they ever manufactured furniture any where other than in the US.
There is only one or two mentions of this online and it was never answered what was going on, so I want to go right to the experts to see what is what!
Hopefully they will answer and I will update you with what I learn.
If this is a real Dixie piece, the 9 drawers like yours are very popular in many places in the US (mostly the East Coast) and I have seen them sell in the low $1,000 range. In other parts of the US, they are not as popular (this French Prudential style--I should say) and they fetch much less. That you have two pieces is nice if someone wants a set.
The thing is, I want to know what you really have first before I recommend you trying to sell it at a true Dixie value!
Hopefully they will answer and I will post back soon!
Thanks for sharing!
I just heard back from the museum. They stated:
"As for the whole Sweden business, I was unable to find anything to confirm that Dixie had any dealings, either manufacturing or collaborations with other companies in Sweden. That said, it couldve happened theres just little surviving record."
That does not help, I know, so I will keep digging to see if I can find anything else!!
I love a good furniture mystery!!
