I'm wanting to sell my Lane cedar chest, but I don't know what it is worth.

This is a really old chest. If you read the serial number backwards, you can tell it was manufactured on October 19, 1933. It is in great shape. I would say it is worth in the $400-$500 range.
What a lovely piece!
I have not been able to find a sold version of your chest, but I see people asking big bucks for them. On eBay people are asking in the 300s for 1930s chests, on Etsy they are asking in the 400s.
The thing is until one sells, you will not know the exact value because value is what someone will pay. Sadly all of the similar versions on eBay have not sold. That is not a good sign.
I know where I am, these are very difficult to sell and ones even as lovely and ornate as yours sell for under $100.
It is all about supply and demand. I hope you are in a high demand area and that there is a low supply so you can fetch on the higher range.
Post back how it goes for you!!! Thanks for sharing!
As Pghgirl states, the location area will be the biggest factor in determining what value to place on your chest.
How do you find out if you are in a low or high demand area?
My only suggestion would be to place ads on several local sales sites like Craigslist, OfferUp, LetGo, USA4Sale, or any other sites you where you can list it as local pick up only.
Start your price at $650 and leave it for a few weeks and just reduce the price if no one shows an interest. This will take a while but it may be your only way to find out what someone is willing to pay.
