I live in Australia and have just acquired this old chest. It has the Lane logo and a series number, but I can't quite tell if it's authentic and when it might have been made. Can anyone help?

It looks authentic. If there is a serial number, read it backwards and that will give you the month, day and year.
You have a beautiful piece. I have never heard of Lane being forged, at least not in the US. Have you heard of it where you are?

The last thing I was looking for and still can't find is my source for old Lane advertising to see if your piece was advertised. I will keep searching for that info and if I find it, I will post back!

I have the same chest. Style number I344 S.R. I have not been able to find any information on it either. Did you find anything?
