I have a Lane Legacy Love cedar chest, serial number 2385111 model# 4786 44. Could you help me determine its value?

Will the value go up if I clean or reapluster
That cedar chest came with a bottom peice on it, I just picked up the same chest except mine is milk painted.
Pretty piece! If you were trying to sell this 10 years ago, you may have fetched up to $1000 for it. Now, sadly, the market is glutted and even though it is a buy one/get one (bench and chest) depending on where you are in the country, your range could be from $50 to $150 dollars.
Unless there is a buyer who desperately wants this particular model, these are very hard to sell and it can take months and months to sell it as you have to find just the right person.
Do you know the year and if this piece was impacted by the recall? See this link: www.cpsc.gov/
If so, you will want to get the lock changed out before selling.
The best way to sell this is to look around your town or ask a local vintage dealer how much it would COST to buy one in your town and then price yours accordingly.
Selling is best at a Flea Market or on Facebook Marketplace. The latter is a pain unless you have a truck and can deliver, you will need to be sure the person pays in cash and has a way to get it out of your house.
If you have a good vintage dealer and they do consignments that is another alternative way to sell. In many cases you will fetch less than if you try to sell on your own, but you will not have the muss and fuss of people coming to your house or you having to go to a flea market to sell it.
Lovely piece!! Thanks for sharing!
