I have a Leonardo collection piece that's a paper holder I believe. It is shaped like a book that has little tiny pieces on the top of it. There is a candle, glasses, and small books. I can't find its value. Can anybody help?

Most Leonardo figurines are mass-produced and worth $20 or less.
But you don't know for sure that's your answer thank you very much.
This is an unusual item but maybe someone could provide more information if we had more pictures; especially a picture of any markings on your item.
Did you mention paper holder? Does the item open from the top?
Would you be able to post a picture of it open also?
Can you provide any information about how old (or long you know about) that it has been around?
Maybe Pghgirl will comment soon as I believe she has a lot of knowledge about Leonardo pieces and may recognize this one.
This is an interesting piece. It looks like an old fashioned lap desk. Is it functional...meaning does it open and you can put paper into it?
Is it ceramic or leather and ceramic? How big is it (it looks fairly big)?
I sold lots of Leonardo Collection pieces when I worked in various Hallmark stores and I never knew any Leonardo Collection pieces to be functional pieces...they were always decorative. Is this marked Leonardo or Leonardo Collection?
I know we only sold certain lines of the collection so it is possible they made functional pieces and we didn't carry them. I am so curious what you have!
I will look for more info and maybe more photos and I can see if it rings a bell. I still keep in touch with one of my former co-workers who did a lot of the buying and I will see if she remembers anything that sounds like what you have.
Thanks for sharing!! I love a good mystery!
It's about 5in by 7in notepad holder and it's open on the top and that's it no markings to it I've looked everywhere but a lot of personal time consuming Engravings.
Are you saying there are no markings?
How was it determined to be Leonardo?
Is there a name of any sort under the tape on the end of the item?
Most of the Leonardo pieces are in the low value range but there are exceptions.
It may still help someone identify it if you could post more pictures.
On its back there is a stamp that says the Leonardo collection and that's it silica Ivory type of that on it the Four Corners has a little brass pipe filler for a screw hole
I am not able to find any comparable being sold at the moment to give you the value today.
My suggestion for you would be to follow a strategy I use when I sell items like this that are "unknowns" meaning I can't find a known SOLD value on the item.
I let the market dictate the current value by doing the following:
I would list the item on eBay for a 7 day auction, starting at 29.95 and see if it sells for that much or goes up.
If the auction ends and it doesn't sell, I would relist it at 19.95 for 7 days.
If the auction ends and it doesn't sell, I would go down to 9.95 and list it for 7 days.
When the listing is live, look to see how many watchers and views it gets--this will tell you if people are seeking such items.
If you are new eBay seller, you may only get 10 "free" auctions a month--which means auctions with no listing fees. You will always have to pay fees on the SOLD price (and postage).
If you are not experienced in selling on eBay, be sure to use the ADVANCED selling template to list your item so you have more control over your listing (it sounds counter intuitive--but it is the best strategy).
If you are in the US I do NOT recommend shipping oversees OR using eBay's Global Ship program. For a new seller--both are much to complicated to figure out right out of the gate. If you are NOT in the US, I strongly recommend selling only to areas you are comfortable selling to (meaning where you don't have to deal with customs and such--which are a huge hassle and many experienced sellers avoid these kind of sales).
Be sure to use the 12 pictures allotted to you in the auction--get close ups and full front, back and side views.
The title should use the phrases note paper holder leonardo collection and I recommend assemblage style (which describes the things that are affixed to it for decorations).
Describe the item fully (size, what it is made out of, the exact condition, the color, what each "embellishment" is and anything you think is important. If you don't smoke and don't have pets, tell people it is from a smoke and pet free home (many buyers are very sensitive to smells so if you have pets--especially cats or smoke, disclose this in your ad or you risk a very unhappy buyer).
Find a good sturdy box and bubble wrap and weigh the item as if it were ready to ship, measure the box and put all of that info in the eBay template so you don't lose money on postage.
Then list. The market will dictate the value of the item. It may sell right out of the gate if there is a lot of demand (there is a very low supply which is good). Or it could sit for months--the market is a fickle lady so to speak.
Please post back with updates! I am happy to help you run your first eBay auction if you are a new seller! It is pretty easy and can be quite fun!
Thanks for sharing this neat item!!
Thank you so much. I have a couple like this dont want to let them go for less than what there really worth.
