This is a more unusual table and I would price it at $225.

Your table is from around 1906 to 1927 (check out the various Mersman history and you will learn this was an early name change to add the Brandts).

This is a lovely, lovely piece! Because there are so few of these pieces in circulation, you have a better chance of getting a nice amount for it.

I personally, would have a reputable antique dealer look at it--depending on the exact age, it could be a real antique (over 100 years old).

They can tell you what the value is for your area and if it would do better in an auction setting (NOT EBAY--a real auction) vs. in a shop.

You could be sitting on something of value--depending on where you are.

Please post back what you learn. I hope it is really good news! I have a really good feeling about this piece!

Thanks for sharing it!

Mersman made a lot of different styles of tables but yours may be one of the few that does not appear to be listed for sale very often.
The wood is beautiful but since Mersman used several different types of wood for their furniture it will be difficult to identify it. Their woods were not of the 'normal' names and included burls as well as Russian oak.

It does appear the Mersman Brandt name was only used between the years 1906-1927 so your table would appear to have been made during those years and that may be as close as anyone can get to the true age.

Seeking out an appraiser would be nice but could also be expensive.
I always recommend asking for free appraisals online so you can at least determine if you need to seek out a private appraiser.
These sites are easy to use but you will need several very good pictures; including closeups of the full front, top, sides, back and especially underneath. Always include a picture of the markings as this is very important when setting an age of an item.
I would suggest sending information to several sites. Always include where you live as this will also be a factor if you decide to sell your table.

Always ask for resale value as well as insurance value.

Here is an old article about Mersman that you might find interesting.
