I have a Mersman step end table #8712 and a coffee table #8714. I need to know type of wood, (I think cherry), year of production, and value.
Thank you in advance for your feedback.

Mersman was made in the middle of the 20th century. They used various kinds of wood. The end table probably will net you $45 or so. I would ask $225 for the coffee table.

Thank you for evaluation
I believe both pieces are walnut, not cherry. But it is challenging to tell from a photo since it could be walnut with a cherry stain.
I just know Mersman made most of the style pieces pictured in walnut, which is why that is what I think they are made from.
It is hard to be positive for the year because Mersman was so prolific and made so many similar pieces over the years. My best guess based on when I remember this style being the most popular was the 1960s.
Step tables identical to yours have sold recently on local to where I am sites in the $25 and under range. In Pittsburgh, they don't fetch much because there are so many of them. I wasn't able to find any examples of sold version on the national sites, but if you check eBay weekly, one will turn up soon I am sure! Never use the asking price to value something...sold prices tell you what people will pay (which is today's market value).
The coffee table is also one of the lesser popular styles. You may fetch $75 to $100 if there is a high demand for this style where you are. Where I am, they are sitting unsold in the $50 and under range. Put them both together and you may get $60 or $80 (start your asking price higher obviously, but don't be surprised if the offering price goes this low).
They are lovely pieces and will live on for years with the next owner. Mersman built things to last and they have!! That lasting power, in some ways, held the value down on the more sturdy pieces, because there are so many and the high supply brought the values down because the 2nd hand demand for them isn't there.
Thanks for sharing them! Post back how your sale goes and where you sold them (including the city if you would). I love learning about values in other parts of the country and world!
Thank you for the info
