I have a Mersman table that my neighbor gave me. I want to know how much you think it's worth if I varnish.

I just saw one like this and they were asking $95.
A 1940's Mersman table,is going up to high $500's on etsy
On ebay it's going for $99
I would say about $125-$150. Be careful varnishing and re staining as that takes away from the antique value. Try using orange oil or Murphys oil soap. Be gentle with cleansers. They can distort the wood and make it look like crap. The more antique it looks, the more it is worth.
I love these pieces!! Are you asking to keep or to sell?
If you are asking to keep, then go for refinishing/varnishing it. Use and love it!! These are sturdy pieces designed to last forever!
If you are asking to sell, I would leave it alone unless you are a professional refinisher. Buyers typically want things in original condition so they can either have it professional done or enjoy it "in the raw".
The value of these pieces (what people will actually pay for them) is all over the board depending on where you are.
Where I am people in the city of Pittsburgh will pay under $150 for one--this would be in a retail shop--if they are buying it from Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace, probably $100 or less. People in big cities are paying in the high $200-300s (again in a retail store setting--like an antique shop/vintage store. The value will decrease for person to person sales).
People in small towns around the country are getting less than $100 for them...and in some cases less than $75.
You have a nice neighbor to give you a piece like this!! I wish I had neighbors like that :)
As a general rule, this is a popular table style and also very useful.
This style can be an outstanding addition to a room especially if you have a 'special' lamp to put on display.
