I think a chest in this good condition should get $200.

here's one on ebay for $450 www.ebay.com/.../141427558853
so I guess it depends on various factors but more than $300 seems accurate

Cedar chests are readily available on eBay and other auction sites but there does not seem to be any consistent prices shown and not very many are sold compared to the numbers listed.
- I have seen this style Murphy cedar chest listed several times but it seems the double heart design does not sell as well as the "plain" designs.
- Lane cedar chests are the favorites and usually always bring more money than the Murphy. Lane cedar chests were considered the "Cadillac" model while the Murphy chests were sold in lower end department stores.
- I think you could almost say the Murphy chests were mass produced as there are still a lot around and many are in very good condition.
- You may be able to keep researching eBay and Google and find more like your chest so you would have a clearer idea as to value but I would venture to say it may sell for $150-$200.
- Value and selling are many times "miles" apart as someone has to see your chest and be willing to pay whatever you are asking. Most of these large items are sold to people in the same area as few will pay the cost of shipping an item like this.
- You may have better luck if you list your chest on your local Craigslist as the perspective buyer could see the condition of your item and there would be no shipping involved.
- If listed on Craigslist, I would start the price at $400 and reduce it if no one shows an interest.
- I do not think you should expect a quick sale but then - you can never tell about things like this.
