If they are from the mid-1800s they can be worth several thousand dollars. Later plates are worth less than $100. You can read more here:

Remember when using eBay to only review sold auctions....which is one of the viewing options. This will give you a good idea if current market value nationally. Look at condition and color descriptions so you can value yours against the sold piece. Think apples to apples comparison.

If you need a value for insurance, talk to your agent to determine if you need an appraisal.
