So I have this 1950 Release of the Encyclopedia Britannica 1768 Edition in 24 blue leather bound volumes. It is in very good condition and I am wondering what I'm looking at for resale. We are moving and cannot take these along. I've had them for 20 years. They were passed down from my grandfather. Thank you in advance.

These are a nice set of books and the only real problem in selling books like this is the shipping cost to ship them. Plus most people look for collectors books which are 100+ years old. I have seen a few people sell them locally which is a good idea. You may be able to get around $25 for your set. Right now is a very bad time to try and sell anything. Wait a few months and see if the economy improves and you may be able to get a little more for your set.
This looks like a nice set but I would first say that right now with all that is happening in the world is probably the very worst time in history to think about trying to sell your books.
The 1768 means nothing as it is just part of the name really.
Yours is the 14th (revised) edition and there is really nothing significant about this edition (that have found). All of the editions between 1933 -1973 were just reissued with updates from the previous year.
Sets are always issued in several styles/covers but it seems the majority of several years was the blue set that you have so the cover does not appear to be 'rare' either.
You can find sets listed for several hundred dollars but asking prices are just that - a price a seller would like to receive for an item.
Only a sold item can give any sort of current value as it shows what someone was willing to pay at a certain time. This does not apply right now but I found no set of this edition that was sold even this year (of course, I could have missed something).
here is a link to eBay sold listings so you can see dates and the amount of money paid for books that sold. The majority of sets sold were either the junior set or great Books of the Western World.

Since you seem to be wanting a quick sale you may consider listing them on several local venues like Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, OfferUp, LetGo or any other site you're aware of.

This is a very nice set of Ecyclopedia's! Unless you can reach out to that special buyer, they are not bringing in much. Because they are under 100 years old, the value on a good day is $25 to $50. Right now may not be the best time for selling these. If you are able wait a few months, then try maybe auction/bid sale or even yard sale!
