I have a stained glass window that is 48x72 inches. I am wondering if anyone would have info on this window and its value?

It is very pretty!!
In order for someone to even start to value it, there are many many variables...some of the questions that need answered are:
Is it signed and who is the artist?
Do you know how old it is? It looks newer, 1970s, but it is very hard to date something from a photo.
Are there cracks?
What is the material between the glass pieces?
Will you be selling it with the framework?
I would assume you are going to have a professional remove it for you if it is installed in your home currently. These are super tricky to get uninstalled and unless you are very experienced, they break very easily and can be totally ruined if you are not an expert in this field.
We have a good friend who is an expert and even he has broken a few in removal. They are just fragile pieces!
All of this said...
My best suggestion for your lovely piece is to contact someone in your area who does stain glass removal and repair and have them give you the value for the piece for your location and the condition of your piece.
If they love it or have a shop where they sell, maybe they can consign it for you or buy it outright. These are very challenging to sell on your own. You have to find the right person with the right size opening and that is a tough one!
Some places (like where I am) stained glass is very common and values are very low (in general unless it is by a famous person). But where you are you may be able to fetch a lot for it. Every market is totally different..so I could quote you a Pittsburgh price but you live in LA market and that would just not be accurate!
I am curious what you learn! Thanks for sharing it!! It is really pretty!!
Are you still in the Stainglass window circuit? I recently acquired a large church with many beautiful windows and I may be looking to sell them. Im in Pittsburgh area. Please reach out to me jimmybuss@yahoo.com my name is Jim thank you
There are many components affecting the value of a stained glass window, such as the dyes and the glass itself. Other factors are the complexity of the design and the age.
This is impossible to give a value on this wonderful piece, only a expert can look at and evaluate what you have, how it is made, age, size and etc.Good luck!
I would actually go to an expert who appraises stained glass and get their opinion of the value. There are so many factors when appraising stained glass and an expert knows the glass and how much it is actually worth.
