Value of a Teak Table?

Value of a Teak Table - low table with tiles along the long sides and wood in the middle and around the edgesThis belonged to my aunt who traveled to other countries. I was just wondering the value. I think the wood is teak.

It is a lovely table. I think a dealer would be a better person to ask than any of us.

Is the inlay ceramic?

Do you know if the artist is Gangso Mobler?

Is it from the late 1960s/early 1970s?

You could have quite a valuable piece on your hands!!

Do you have any reputable vintage stores in your town that could could trust to look at this?

If it is a Gangso Mobler, they sell for upwards of $3000 in some markets (like NYC and LA and other big cities)--in auction formats and high end shops.

Please post back with what an expert tells you!! This is a neat piece and I hope it is a Gangso Mobler or like maker because you will fetch a nice sum for it!

Yes it is ceramic. I even have a few extra tiles. I cannot find a name. It would probably be 1960 or before.

Thanks for the additional info.

For a piece like this (which I think may be more valuable than you realize if it is a Gangso Mobler), I suggest you take it to a vintage store or consignment store who can sell furniture (or if they will take it since it is not 100 + years old) an antique store and have them authenticate it and value it for your market.

The ideal would be one that specializes in vintage furniture AND that has an auction arm where it could be available to the widest market (which often means opportunity to make more money).

Please post back what you learn from them! I think it is lovely and hope it is worth a lot in your market!!

I think that any price we give you would not do you justice. The table is beautiful and deserves to have a professional look at it and tell you about this table. I would go to an auction house or a person who specializes in this type of table and ask them to help you out.

They will know what to look for and how much it is really worth.
