I am settling the estate for an elderly couple. There is a vintage bedroom suite, 5 pieces. The drawers were lined and still are. Nothing ever touched the inside of the drawers. I thing it is Calderell brand (see picture with brand). The suite was purchased around 1950 and includes a bed and bookcase headboard, tall dresser, long dresser, and 2 night stands. What's it worth?

This is worth nothing. Give it away on Freecycle.
Thjis is rather outdated and not really what people are looking for in vintage furniture. You should be able to get around $100 to $150 for the set.
The worth is not there, you could try advertise on facebook, craig's list for bid/best offer!
First, I think the brand is CaldWELL, not Calderell. I could be wrong, but I have never heard of a brand called Calderell, but Caldwell is a pretty well known brand and a pretty famous designer who got his start in the 1950s with this kind of furniture.
You will want to have this checked out as it could indeed be VERY valuable. This type of furniture is not everyone's style, but when it is, they are willing to pay big bucks for it!
I suggest called or emailing the designer to verify it is indeed his and then deciding how to proceed. Here is his website: www.johncaldwelldesign.com/
What you have is considered Mid Century Modern (MCM) Danish style and this type of furniture is very popular in big cities like New York, LA and even Pittsburgh.
Once you confirm what you have (and I sure hope it is indeed John Caldwell pieces) you will most likely need to find an auction house to sell it so you get the best exposure and money for it.
Are you in a city that has auction houses?
Please post back with an update on what you learn! Please do not do anything with it until you find out what you have. If it is not a John Caldwell set, in some markets it will still have value and we can talk about next steps then!
we're very small town in rural southern ohio. your response was more than gracious. thank you
Thanks for posting back. Ohio has a huge number of antique shops in the bigger cities. Can you get photos (see if you can email maybe) to some of them to get their feedback?
This will best serve you to get the most value for your items if they are indeed as valuable as I think they may be!!
Post back with what the experts tell you!
