I have only seen one other Sandra doll still in the box unopened in excellent original condition. I am trying to find out the year it was made and its approximate value.

It is such a shame that the market right now is flooded with dolls like this. Many of these dolls have been sitting on these sites like eBay and Esty for so long and they are not selling at all. People are trying to sell the dolls for around $25-35 but they are not selling. The majority of the dolls that actually sell are only selling for $5-15 each. The price that dolls sell for determines the market value of dolls right now.
You have probably been searching eBay and happened upon these 2 listings and the asking price seems too good to be true.....
Listings like these are used for reasons only the sellers (and buyers) have knowledge of and they are not 'for real' listings.

These dolls were sold at K-Mart and there are thousands of this brand listed for sale and their value usually runs between $.99 - $35 and some of the dolls that do sell may have been listed for years before they sold.
Dolls are so numerous and so cheap that even if one sells the seller way not clear/profit more than -$15 to $10.
As far as I can determine, there is nothing special about your doll and if listed for sale, may eventually sell for $35-$50 but - may never sell.
Here are eBay sold listings for this brand doll so you can check out what people are really paying for similar dolls.

I'm sorry to be so blunt and I do not mean to be harsh but I just wanted you to know the 'true story' about these dolls.
To cybergrannies point, I was shocked to see 3 Sandra's--from 3 different sellers with huge asking prices on them. These two, and one on Etsy.
I was assuming they are fraud or money laundering, which is probably how these high values started...and the original sold one at that price dropped off and these three have been trying hard ever since to get it to repeat! All very puzzling!!
All 3 have been sitting unsold for a long, long time...so either these are fraudsters and they just aren't good (usually what the fraud mongers do is take a super common item, fill it with drugs, tell their "clients" to buy it on eBay at a crazy high price and then to make it look legit--they ship the doll and the drugs through the mail and the money is now clean because it was for a doll, officer!
When you see the solds, they are at crazy high prices which can't be compared to any other like item and the sellers have low or no feedback.
This just does not smell right so I am betting these are three people that saw something a while ago and are just following on each other's coattails thinking they have struck it rich and wondering why Sandra never sold!!!
You could always play their game and list lower than the lowest, which I think was $399 and see if you get someone to bite.
I can't think of anything that would make Sandra worth more than the average Collectible Memories doll--which is in the $$5-25 range in most parts of the US. There is absolutely nothing in my records that shows she was special, an error doll, has a real diamond ring or gold necklace--nothing--Collectible Memories were considered low end dolls even when they were new in the 1980s.
Please post back what you decide and how your sale goes!! I would love to see what she really sells for in an open market from a legit seller!!
During these trying times, this lovely doll will not get what it deserves. With extra money in most households being used sparingly, the purchasing of dolls are down to minimum, bringing in only $5 to $15 if you are lucky. Your doll is not vintage, but maybe someone will purchase for the holidays. Stage her well in photos to make her stand out from the rest ,if you want to sell.
How do purchase this doll Sandra and how much?
