I have this lyre table with the number 5878 on the base and on the bottom of the top. I am unable to find any information or value. Can you help?

It depends on who made it. Mersman is in the $225 range.
It looks like you have a quality piece there and a style that is still somewhat popular in the resell world.
Can you tell me if it was refinished? The top stain looks too dark to be original...but it could be the photos. Sadly if it was refinished, that will lower the value in many markets.
The number does not ring a bell and the legs look too simple to be a Mersman (their legs were usually much more ornate), but I have not seen every Mersman ever made. It is possible it is a store brand as this was a popular style for many years. It is also the number was put on there by a reseller much later.
Just from the photos (and I could be off as I can't see it in person), I would call this a 1940's Duncan Phyfe STYLE table--The construction looks too new to be a real DP piece which were made in the late 1700s-to late 1800s.
Depends on where you are what the resale value can be set. I see them selling country wide between $30 and $150. Talk to a reputable antique/vintage re-seller in your town and see what they fetch where you are located. I hope it is in the high range!
