I recently have come to own a vintage Silvertone recorder in very good shape. I want to know what it is worth and where to sell it.
Answering the questions presented by Pghgirl may help us find a value but from what I have found there have not been any of these sold over the past several years. This does not mean none have been sold but probably if sold, were sold locally. That is why your location is important when doing research as every area of the country will be entirely different in what people are buyin or looking for.
There is a site - Worthpoint - that shows several of these as being listed for sale but you have to be a member to obtain any sale (or dates) information. I have provided some links below.
Your system appears to be this model:
1941 vintage Sears Silvertone model 5731 AM tube radio 78 record player recorder with microphone
Here are links to some sites that have information about this model which you will need if you decide to list it for sale.
Your first mission will be to see if it is in working condition or you will have to list it as 'untested & sold as is' and this will greatly reduce the value.

You may be able to contact someone at this site to see if they can help with your questions.

You can also Google vintage antique radio club with your zip code and if one is in your area they may be able to help you.
You might try to find a repair shop in your area also as they might be able to check it out for you.
It's also possible that a Sears Service center in your area might check it out for you.
Since this model weighs over 35 pounds and would be fragile to ship, I would suggest you list it on a local venue like Craigslist, OfferUp, LetGo, or Facebook Marketplace so you can list it as 'pick up only' and no shipping involved.
You can always sell this on eBay. I see a lot listed there and it seems to be a seller choice market. People are listing these item for a low as 15 dollars all the way up to 500 dollars. The average price range seems to be 50 to 80 dollars.
What is the model number on it?
Do you know if it is all original in parts?
Does it work?
Is the cabinet wood or bakelite?
Are you in the US? What state? City?
These, if I remember right, were sold at Sears so they were considered lower end when new (for the most part) and that does translate to reselling values today, but there are a few that people still love and collect so I want to make sure I know exactly what you have before trying to value it for you.
Looking forward to learning more. Thanks!
There are a lot of variations of this brand and sought after, because playing vinyl is making a strong come back! There are quite a few sights selling - www.ebay.com/
