This is documented as a 1943 Webster's New International dictionary of the English language-second edition. It has the colorful design on the outside edges of the paper. The title is in white letters. The cover is brownish red. I can't determine if it's leather. There is no embossing. The photo of N. Webster is different from the one depicted in other like dictionaries. Is it genuine or a knockoff?

There are generally several printings published with different bindings so yours could be just one version. As far as being a "knock-off" I do not believe anyone would go to that extreme for such a small amount of money in return.
- Webster's dictionaries were printed by numerous companies and many versions are available.
- I did see several versions on eBay that have the same photo as yours but that does not really mean very much.
- A collector would be the one searching for a book like this and the overall condition of the book is what they look for before they look at anything else.
- Yours seems to be in good condition so your best solution is to research for several weeks and see what you believe it is worth and post it for sale.
- You can always reduce the price if it does not sell.
- You have to remember that book sellers list their books for months and months and even years and still may never sell them.
- Here is a link to eBay with some books similar to yours that you can look at each one to see the difference as some have a different title because they are published by different companies. Some are the true Webster but all are in the same age range.

- Here is the link that shows what has been sold over the past several months.

- You can also check Amazon and Abe's Books to see if they have any copies for sale.

The best way to find out is to take it to a book dealer, who specializes in old books.

What a great find! You might do best to go to an antiquarian or book dealer for a more faithful price, but what I saw on ebay was a range from $69 to $140
