I have an 1855 Webster's dictionary. The pages are in good condition, but the cover is worn. It is leather bound.

You can go to an auction house for antiques and talk with them. The issue here would be the condition of the cover. I'd say that you should be able to sell this for around $100 - 150 easily. The price is always based on the supply and demand plus the condition of the book. Your best best is to talk with a person at an auction house and see what they can tell you about the price range they are selling for.

Because it is over 100 years old, it is considered antique. Take it to a few book dealers for their opinion

Collectors are usually the ones who buy books like this and the condition of the book dictates the price they will pay.
- Older dictionaries are usually good sellers because of the art work/illustrations and maps so the condition of the overall book is important.
- From your photos it does appear that your pages are dark but your maps etc may still be good.
- The cover is a problem when ask "big" money and it looks like the binding is coming apart?
- After viewing the same and similar dictionaries now listed for sale, I'm not sure your book would sell for much more than $50-$100.
- It seems that only dictionaries in good condition are selling for a higher price. There are several with a very high asking price but these may take a very long time to sell (sometimes months & months or even years) - if they sell.
- Take a look at some of these listings and their asking prices and read some of the descriptions about the condition. We have no way to tell how long these books have been up for sale.

- If you decide to try and sell your book, be sure to show several photos of the overall condition so if someone buys it, they will not return it because it was not described correctly.
- If you have an auction house in your area, that would be a good place to ask about a likely price you may be able to get (what would be their opening price?).
