I was given this vanity and I'm curious what it's worth. Can any one help?
If it had the bench, it could be worth $850 to $1050, depending upon condition.
This was a very prestigious Michigan company in the day (late 1800s to the late 1940s). There is a lot of history of the company (and their sad ending) on line.
It depends on where you are the value and if you have the bench. If the mirror needs resilved can also affect (lower) the value.
My best guidance is to take this lovely piece to a reputable antique dealer and find out what it is worth in your neck of the woods.
In some places these are still quite valuable. In other places (where there are a glut of them) they have lost value.
I sure hope you are in a high demand, low supply area and can fetch a good amount. Where I am they sell in the $300 range for a pristine one without a bench and slightly more with one, but I am in a high supply, low demand place.
Please post back what you learn and how your sale goes.
Check out this wonderful site www.chairish.com. A similar vanity like yours was going for$765.00 without bench.Beautiful piece!
I do not see any real evidence of these selling for high prices and certainly not in central Florida.
You may be located in an area that is still into homes that have space for a piece of furniture that is mainly for show and would probably not be used very often; if at all. Maybe a place to hold trinkets or collectibles and without a stool it looks kinda 'unfinished'.
If you do research you can find similar pieces (condition means a lot with this type of furniture) that have sold over the past couple of years (different locations) for $50-$200. I found 2 very pretty Berkey & Gay vanities with asking prices of less than $100 go unsold (location CA).
Furniture prices fluctuate so a current value for your area would be very difficult to offer. All you can do is list it on several sites and start your price high (even $1,500) and lower it if no one shows and interest.
This link is a full bedroom set currently listed on eBay for $1,000..
Here are some links from my research.

I bought this at an estate sale. Berkey and Gay. I thought it may be a magazine holder but I can't find any others like it. Any idea on what it really is and approximate value?
I'm in the midwest.. Measures 23 inches W x 13 inches D x 26 inches HBerkey & Gay Furniture Company began its roots in 1866 in Grand Rapids, Michigan creating fine furniture until 1948.
This magazine holder has a brass round tag with the words BERKEY & GAY FURNITURE and C with the O in the center. This tag is from 1905-1929.
"By 1905 Berkey & Gay had adopted a new trademark consisting of a series of concentric rings. A circular line surrounds the words BERKEY & GAY FURNITURE which surround a C with the O as the center. This mark appeared as an inlaid wood tag or paper label for a short time, then was replaced by a brass tag. was added between the C and the company name."

I think this is from the 1920s and having a value of $300-400 resale, but it depends on where you sell it.
Antique Berkey & Gay 1905-1929 Mahogany Bed Side Accent Table was sold for $214.95

Your item is actually called a traditional 'Canterbury' or magazine rack or sheet music caddy.
Your Canterbury is more elaborate than most of the ones you will see listed for sale.
I did find one that looks like it is very close to your model and
the asking price is set at $735 but this is listed on Charish and this site is always higher than most sites.

This Canterbury is more elaborate than yours and sold for $675 about 2 years ago.

Furniture is costly to ship and many times the final value will be determined by where the item is located.
I believe that if you paid less than $400 you probably got a nice deal.
I hope you intend to make it part of your home as it is a lovely table.
Should you decide to sell it, I would advise you to ask for a free appraisal from one of these sites just so you know what it's true value may be.
