This is a good quality piece with the dovetailed drawers. Look for markings inside the drawer, behind and underneath. That will help.
I have tried I have found nothing no stamp no brand I wish I could find something I did find a number on it but it is just 5732 1/2 BT
I have no idea what that means
On Etsy this piece could run for $200 to $1000 depending on condition. You could get more on auction!
This is a really neat piece. I think it is 1930s-1940s English Revival piece. I see them called sideboards and buffets. I am not sure the difference. Maybe that is regional.
The photos are a little dark, so I am not positive if it is burled walnut or not. The dovetailing is very nice. I cannot tell if they are hand done (which would make it older) or machine. I am leaning to machine made, as they look pretty even.
These type of pieces are all over the place in online sales and they really are market driven to set a value. They can sell from as low as $100 in a saturated market into the thousands if you are in a low supply, high demand area.
My best suggestion is to find a good antique/vintage dealer and ask how much you would pay for one in your town. Perhaps you could have them sell it for you (which would be ideal since online sales would have to be local pick up only unless you had access to freight shipping, which is very costly). They will take a commission, but you will gain the most exposure to potential buyers that way, which usually maximizes profits.
Please post back what you learn and how the sale goes! It is a neat piece and I hope you are in a low supply, high demand market!
Thanks so much for the help everyone and yes I will be in touch and let everyone know what happens. Me and my wife redo furniture and I cant wait to see this when we finnish it.
WOWWY WOW!!! It is beautiful!!! Thanks so much for sharing your completed project. It is stunning!
Wow! The finished project is BEAUTIFUL!
These are in demand today, especially in the South. I would contact any local vintage decor sellers and see what they would suggest, or try to find a similar photo in vintage markets to compare pricing. I would think this would go anywhere from $200-$800 depending on location and demand.
Good luck! Beautiful work!
