I've come across a large trunk with an insured Indestructo trunk label including a registration number. It's got leather handles on each side and brass fixtures and hardware. The inside is in good, but not perfect condition although all the drawers work great. It's super neat, but is it valuable? Also can I trace original owner via registration number?

Antique steamer trunks are usually always a popular item but still slow sellers and now would not be a good time to try and sell anything that is nonessential.
You might want to check out similar trunks on eBay and other sites and maybe keep watch to see if any are selling.
You can place a watch on any eBay listing to see if it sells or if the price is changed.

As to finding the original owner - doubtful but you might contact the Chamber of Commerce in Mishawaka, IN and see if they can help. It looks like the owner's initials and city/state are printed on the trunk.

A Google search shows a lot of different trunks so you might want to peruse some of these links to see if you can find other information.
