I'm led to believe that this table was my great grandmother's. I was wondering if anyone had some insights on the maker, year, value, any information really about this. It also has 2 leaf inserts. I was thinking of restoring it/refinishing it if anyone has any pointers or tips for this table.

Look underneath for identifying marks. It will be much easier to tell the age and the value if you know who made it.
Only markings are the numbers 147 and 7606-45 written on the bottom with black marker
More info would be helpful on this piece, you could take more pictures at different angles and underneath the table so that a professional can give you the value!
If that is the only marking on this table and there is no other labels at all then it is very hard to identify this table for you. It is best that you see a dealer and show him the table.
It is a nice table.you need a proffessional valuation. This person has years of experience. She will give you a written or verbal evaluation, based on her studies. She will need numbers andc names, that are usually found around the furniture.
I am not positive, but it looks like an Ethan Allen French Country Dining Table from the 1980s.
Was your great grandmother around in the 1980s? I was wondering if she bought it new then.
If that is what it is, in pristine condition people ask (I haven't seen one sell in ages) but people ASK $700-900 for them--but this usually includes the chairs.
The thing is, furniture sales are regionally driven and if there are a lot of these and a little demand where you are, the value drops considerably.
If there are a few and a high demand, the value can increase.
Asking prices are just what the SELLER wants to get for something. That I have not found any SOLD examples on any of the sites I frequent, which tells me that buyers are not finding value in these pieces at the moment. That can change as the market is always fluid.
Things to look at also are do you have the chairs and what condition are they in? If not or they are in rough shape, that can lower the value.
Since condition is critical the damage on the legs of ours will drop the value...depending on the buyer, up to several hundred dollars.
How I look at it is, if you are looking to refinish it and enjoy it as a family heirloom, I say go for it and enjoy it! Pieces are meant to be loved and enjoyed, not sold, unless your job is a re-seller.
If you are looking to sell, you would need to verify with a furniture dealer who can look at it in person that it is an Ethan Allen piece and the year and what they fetch in your town. I could be wrong and am giving my best guesstimate based on what I see and know. Photos can be misleading though, which is why it is important to have someone look at more than I can see
Things an expert will look at are what I can't see like the underside and how the table pulls out (the mechanism is often a clue to age), how the leaves connect (another clue to age), the condition of the leaves, the actual condition of the tabletop, and if there are flaws in the legs outside of the scratches and things that I can see (meaning cracks or repairs). These would all impact value.
Thanks for sharing! Post back what you decide.
This is the best possibility of what it could be. And no, my great Grandmother was not around then, my mother tends to exaggerate things. I am not looking to sell it, I was actually curious because my husband and I are remodeling our dining room and kitchen around this table. I thank you for all the time you put in to find me some answers! I really appreciate you for doing this.
It is a French Country style...possible it is older, but most likely not an antique (100 years of age or older). The legs have wear consistent with use, but the top does not have "antique" age to it.
I do love family stories!! They will be great to tell around the table in your new room!!
Enjoy your dining room table!! It is a lovely piece! Blessings!
Luckily we have Always had table covers on it!
