My mother has an Ashton Drake monkey named "Zara". It breathes and has a heartbeat, we were wondering the value of it.
Thank you.

I did not find any current sold listings for this particular doll so it would be very difficult to give you a current value.
The listing on Worthpoint has a lot of information that may be helpful if you decide to sell the doll but unless you are a member you cannot see the sold price (or 'if' it was sold) and you also cannot see the year the auction took place (they keep auction information forever).
This doll was also brand new and has the box etc.

There are some listings on Amazon for similar monkey dolls but only a current sold listing of the exact doll can give you an idea of the value of your doll.
Your doll is one of the few dolls out there that has held its value and is still sought after by collectors.
Value is what the market will bear and what someone will pay so you will see sold prices for this and all of the orangutan/monkey dolls ranging from 9.99 into the low hundreds.
If if Zara was mine, and you are an experienced eBay seller, I would take 12 amazing photos of her, write up a very clear description of her (give the size, if you have the box or not, if you have the tags or not, if she has any flaws, etc.)
Also, if you have a smoke and pet free home, that is critical to mention.
If the doll has been kept in a home of a smoker or has been exposed to pet fur--do not list it online (there is nothing but trouble if a buyer gets a piece that has any smell or fur) and try to find a consignment store to sell it.
Also if you are NOT an experienced eBay seller, I also suggest consigning it so you can get the most for it.
If you are listing, put it on a 7 day auction starting on Sunday morning so it will send on a Sunday morning.
Start it for the minimum YOU WANT to get for it--I would start mine somewhere between 15.99 and 21.99 (if it was mine) and let the market dictate the final selling price.
You may be lucky and have it go into the low 100s or it may stay at opening price. There are so many of these dolls that this is the reality. This is one situation where when there is a high supply and a high demand, the value (selling price) can fluctuate greatly.
Some hints and tips if you are not an experienced seller--be sure to package the piece VERY carefully. This means it should be double boxed--if it comes in a box already--gently stuff tissue paper in all of the space in the original box, then put it in a bigger box and have at least 2 inches of space ALL around the outside box that is filled with packing peanuts or Styrofoam. The doll should NOT be able to move when you shake the box.
Do this BEFORE you list so you can weight and measure the box and put that all in the eBay advanced seller tool (no, the tool is not just for long time sellers--it is the tool even beginners use when they want to get postage right). The tool has a place at the bottom where you put in the box measurements and weight. NEVER, let eBay calculate shipping costs for you. They are always wrong.
Post back with how your sale goes!! Thanks for sharing
PS, don't bother getting a subscription to Worthpoint. They used to offer free peaks WITHOUT a credit card. Now they want a credit card up front and it is very challenging to get it cancelled when you no longer want it.
Most of the info on that site can be found in other places anyway for free since they are just a repository of information from a bunch of auction sites, including eBay.
Thanks Pghgirl - great information.
Always a pleasure to help! Reselling and dolls are two of my passions!!
This doll was auctioned/bid off on worthpoint.com for over $150! Others like it are being sold on amazon for $69 to $119!
If you subscribe to this site they will tell you how much the monkey is worth. They call it a free trial so I am not sure what is required from the site. But you can not find out the value of the monkey unless you subscribe to their free trial.
