Does anyone know the marking on this chair? I'm trying to figure out what era and how much this chair is worth. The only marking is this genie lamp-like metal picture.
Thank you!

I don't think that is a marking. I think it is a decoration. I would bring it to a dealer if I were you.
Your piece is really lovely! The aladdin/genie lamp is a frieze or embelishment, not a company marker.
I keep looking at this and I don't think it is original to the piece. It doesn't fit...but I could be wrong. The piece is very stark and has strong lines and this frieze is a Victorian emblishment that is usually found much more ornate pieces. That is a gut feeling, I could be totally off.
I suggest since it looks very old (peg construction) that you take these and more really good photos (or the chair) to an antique dealer and find the value for where you are located.
Chairs are a hard sell in may places, even rockers, even antique. There is just a glut of them on the market. That said, there are still some rare and valuable ones, so I would have a pro look at it and look at things that I can't see..to tell you what you have and the value.
Please post back with an update on your item!! Very cool! Thanks for sharing!!
The tacks and the fabric on the seat of the chair look like it has been replaced in the past. I do not believe the seat is the original seat and it has been changed. I do not know if this will matter much or not to determine the value of this chair. I would contact an antique shop or auction house in your area to show them the chair and ask them their oppinion of how much it is worth and if they could tell you more about it.
