We bought an air mattress for both of our kids for Christmas to go with their new tents. Well one of them came without a valve cover. Needless to say the store won't do anything for us and neither will the manufacturer. Is there anywhere to get a valve cover or anyway to make one?

You can try auto tire stores, auto stores like AutoZone, Walmart's auto section etc. Take the valve you do have with you. They are mass produced and you can most probably find a match.
There is a wonderful product available called sugru, which is moldable glue and dries as rubber. It can be used to make all kinds of parts and other things, and for repairing items. The website is fascinating, and shows dozens of ideas and applications.
