This is a creamy and delicious substitute for cheese spread, made of almonds that have been soaked for 24 hours. This spread really boosts flavours in sandwiches where mayonnaise and cheese would typically be used, and is also a great topping for crackers, and a dip for veggies. Add any type of chopped herbs, if you desire.
This keeps well in an airtight container in the fridge for about a week.

Hi Attosa,
Wow, this sure looks delicious and healthy!
Every evening while I'm cooking dinner, I always eat a couple of crackers with cheese, just to take the hunger edge off, and this seriously looks like a better option of healthiness, and tastier too.
Thanks again for your wonderful ideas of so many different yummies.
Attosa,
I forgot to ask you, as I've never soaked almonds and this is new to me. Are they placed in the frig in their bowl of water to soak? And is salt used at all in the soaking? Thank you for your help.
I sure do love all these recipes and tips everyone posts that we're able to learn here on ThriftyFun!
Thank you Attosa, and all :)
Hi Suz! That's a great question! I just put my almonds in a glass bowl and make sure it's covered with water by about an inch, then leave it to soak out on the counter for 24h. The only time I'll put it in the fridge is if it's deathly hot. No salt needed!
I really think you will LOVE this stuff! Let me know if you make it? Hugs!
Hi Attosa,
Thank you for letting me know that.
And I sure will let you know when I make it. This is another one of your recipes that I can't wait to make. :)
Soooo excited for you to give it a go! I just had some in my tuna sandwich and it was so delish!
Oh wow, even on a tuna sandwich. Yummm. Yes, it seems it would add lots of depth to it.
Yes, if we go by a Sprouts this weekend, which they've got lots of great prices *especially on all kinds of nuts*, then I'm making it right away.
What's funny, well, not funny, but I am a "cracker nut", hehe which is I love crackers with cheese, and I've made so many cream cheese toppings and different kinds of cheeses toppings actually, just to have my "before dinner crackers" to rid the pang in the tummy while I'm cooking, and just the thought of the ingredients in this "spread" you've made with the ground almonds...oh, it's making me excited to eat it! hahaha
I love the excitement! I get excited for "cheese" and crackers too. So much it's probably silly. Glad we are the same in that way! I got these almonds at Sprouts too. I like to stock up when they have those huge sales.
I need to share with you my cashew "cheeses" too! Ahhh I'm hungry now!
Hi Attosa,
I got the almonds and soaked them, and now have a bowl of this new "Almond Spread".
I think I made it a bit chunkier with the almonds when I processed it, and I've got to say: I LOVE this new Almond Spread! I put it on Trisket crackers and it's perfectly wonderful, besides how nutritious it is.
Thank you Attosa :)
And, from making it, it opened up a lot of new doors in how this spread could also be used. I can see more now too in how yummy this would be on a tuna sandwich as you'd said. I imagined it before, but now, oh.. YES!
Also, I thought about how this spread on a breaded white fish sandwich would be, possibly adding more lemon to the Almond Spread would really add some major umph to the fish sandwich
with the ground almonds. Yummm
We love it. Last night my hubby and I, before dinner, played our regular table games, as we never miss a day, and had the Almond Spread on Trisket crackers as our snack, and we really enjoyed it :) It's just perfect and yummy and it was very easy to make.
Thanks so much Attosa for introducing me to this wonderful snack, or actually it's a perfect spread for so many things. :)
Ahh, I'm soooo pleased you made it and both enjoyed it! I love a good "success story" on here ;) Haha! Yes, so versatile in what you can add to it and what you can enjoy it with. Have fun with this new technique!!! :)
Thank you again Attosa.
And I'm all ears anytime for any of your "cashew recipes too". :)
Oh and how silly of me, I spelled the crackers that I used (Trisket)
when they're actually Triscuits. Oh geeze. hehe
Suz, I thought those were just knock-off Triscuits you could find in your area! HAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D
Hi Ladies,
And how funny about the "knock off Triskets" hehehe
It was my boo-boo not realizing the spelling of those crackers until I looked again at the box and thought then how I really should of looked at that spelling before I typed it, hehe :)
