A plate of Vegetarian Sweet and Sour on RiceThis recipe is made from TVP (Textured Vegetable Protein). Trying to make a vegetarian dish that tastes like meat can be tricky. I have found that lots of seasonings help to make it tasty. Less calories and healthier.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Total Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 Tbsp oil
  • 1 cup TVP
  • 1 can pineapple tidbits or chunks
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 pkg. Korean barbecue seasoning mix (or something similar)
  • 1 cup sliced bell pepper
  • rice
Ingredients for Vegetarian Sweet and Sour on Rice
 

Steps:

  1. Add oil to instant pot. Add 1 cup of TVP, 1 can pineapple, 1 cup chopped bell pepper, 1 cup water, and seasoning packet. Stir.
  2. TVP and pineapple in an Instant Pot.
     
    Adding green peppers to the TVP mixture.
     
  3. Cook for 15 minutes. Serve over rice.
