Bassett made very nice furniture and most pieces, in very good condition are valued in the hundreds.
But actually selling a piece is not always that simple even if the value is stated at $400-$800.
The area where a heavy item is located will many times be the deciding factor of final value as these items are costly to freight ship and usually sell as a pick up only item.

Your chest is sometimes called a 'gentleman's chest or traditional or even if Hi-Boy' if tall enough.
Some people also call this 'brown furniture' and this does not sell very well in some areas.

The shape of the chest and the drawer pulls turn a lot of people away as it seems sell for less money.

If you list it for sale I would suggest a starting price of $400 with all offers considered and free local pick up. Lower the price if no offers received.

It is traditional furniture. Bassett has been around for a long time and is still in business. You can contact them here www.bassettfurniture.com/?gclsrc=aw.ds&gclid=EAIaIQobChMItoqqmb3e7wIVS7LICh3LdQA4EAAYASAAEgI6gfD_BwE...

Bassett Furniture Company was founded in 1902 by the Bassett family of Henry County, Virginia and started out as a manufacturer of bedroom furniture. Your dresser also belongs to a vintage Bassett bedroom set. Here is exactly the same as your dresser, + bed, 6 drawer chest and night stand from the bedroom set: www.worthpoint.com/.../bassett-bedroom-suite-four-pieces.... And here is exactly the same dresser as yours, with the same maker's mark: www.worthpoint.com/.../bassett-drawer-cherry-wood-highboy... This maker's mark was used in circa 1950s (late 1950s) and after the 1950s.

In the 1950s (late 1950s), the dressers looked a little different, but they already resembled yours: www.goantiques.com/bassett-furniture-1959-1378152, and look at this Highboy Chest with the price $499: www.etsy.com/.../highboy-chest-mahogany-bassett-8...
Dressers with long legs are called "Highboy". Your dresser does not have long legs, so it is not correct to call it Highboy Dresser.
And look at this post-1950s Bassett Dresser with the same maker's mark as yours and which was sold for $390: picclick.com/Vintage-Federal-Style-Bassett-Furniture...
The same style as your dresser continued to be used in the 1980s www.worthpoint.com/.../56946-bassett-mahogany-high-chest..., but as you can see, this furniture already has maker's mark with narrower letters. The price of this Bassett furniture made in the 1980s is about $750 www.ebay.com/.../393231509512?hash=item5b8e6ca808...

So, you have 1960s-1970s Bassett Dresser. Since your dresser is not in very good condition, the price is about $350-400.
