Could someone help me to identify this vintage ceramic bird figurine? It has a wind up bottom and a lever to play music. Where can I find a replacement?
Lefton and Gorham were the two big makers of figurines like this in the 1970s-1990s and beyond.
It may be almost impossible to find the exact bird in a quick search--because there are thousands upon thousands out there most just called bird figurine. I am still trying to decide if the bird is a finch or a meadowlark or something else...that, sadly, may or may not help you narrow it down--because most resellers will simply call it a bird and hope for the best!
For repairing, Michaels and the other big box stores usually have replacement kits for music boxes--without seeing the bottom I would not know how to advise you to make the replacement.
There may be YouTube how to videos. Can you show the bottom?
I think your music box is made in Japan.
Many brands have made vintage bird music boxes.
Lefton made music boxes with a different base (just google it).
I think you have Toyo Bird Music Box.
I found a 5 5/8" music box with the same base www.ebay.com/
You did not write what you need to replace.
Perhaps a key www.ebay.com/
