Silver Post Medal for All Time! 408 Posts Use an old black and white photo to make a special birthday card for a female family member that will stir some memories of days gone by.
Total Time: 30 minutes
Yield: 1 card
Supplies:
- an old black and white photo
- 12 x 12 in Deja-vu scrapbook paper from KaiserCraft Charlotte's Dream Collection, product code P820 ~ see http://www.kaisercraft.com.au/
- 4 x 5.4 in natural Hessian (burlap)
- four 2 inch natural skeleton leaves
- photo editing program
- scanner and printer
- quick drying glue
- pencil
- ruler
- pair of standard scissors
- heart-shaped paper punch
Steps:
- Cut a piece sized 6x9 inches from the Deja-vu scrapbook paper.
- Score the 6x9 inch scrapbook paper in half to create a card sized 6x4.5 inches. The floral side must be on the inside of the card.
- With the fold at the left, center and glue the Hessian on the front of the card.
- Cut a second piece sized 3.5x5 inches from the Deja-vu scrapbook paper.
- With the floral side facing up, center and glue the 3.5x5 inch piece of scrapbook paper to the front of the card.
- Scan the photo onto your computer.
- With the photo program, click on the Bright/Color-button and then choose Sepia to change the color of the photo.
- From the different frames that could be added to the photo, choose Antique Photo 01. This will give the photo an even more aged look.
- Print the photo via PhotoScape, using the 3x4 inches size option, and cut out the printed photo.
- Center and glue the printed photo to the front of the card.
- Glue two skeleton leaves at the top left corner of the printed photo, and two at the bottom right corner.
- Use the heart-shaped punch to punch six hearts from the Deja-vu scrapbook paper and glue them in place over the skeleton leaves.
