When you need to wrap a very large gift item or an odd shaped gift item which is too large for a gift bag, go to the local dollar store and purchase a vinyl/plastic tablecover in a solid color or appropriate design for the occasion. It not only works great but saves on the cost of gift wrapping. I used this idea recently to wrap a rocking chair for my grandson's birthday.

Although what you get them can often be something of a bone of contention how you wrap it up can sometimes make all the difference between a good gift and a great gift. My favorite wrapping material is tissue paper. It is an incredibly versatile material which is why it makes a great substitute for wrapping paper when it comes to presenting your gift. One of the main benefits of using tissue paper is that it comes in a multitude of colours and patterns and is suitable to use all year round. I regularly browse gift packing supply stores for new colours. If you make sure you always have a few reams of tissue paper in the house, you know you are able to wrap a gift quickly and effortlessly.
