Our 2-year old daughter got sick and we let her lay down on the living room couch so that I could keep an eye on her while she naps. But then she vomited. She is now better, but the vomit odor is still lingering around. I have used Lysol disinfectant spray, soap and water, and a couple of other products, but nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any suggestions (other than buying a new couch)? Thanks!

Spray the area with water and coat with baking soda. Let it dry, say overnight, and vacuum. Good luck! (10/24/2006)
Have you tried to steam out the smell? You might want to call a carpet cleaning service. (10/25/2006)
Spray with Woolite Rug and Carpet Stain Remover and clean up as directed on the bottle. This stuff works great at removing stains and odors. If after cleaning (be sure to have let the area dry first) there is still a vomit smell use Lysol disinfectant spray to kill the bacteria/germs that are causing the smell. (10/25/2006)

Try an enzyme odor remover such as those used on pet accidents. There is one called "Nature's Miracle". Any pet store or pet department will have a variety of these products. (10/29/2006)

Not that anyone wants to go buy anything, but Rug Doctor makes an odor eliminator and it took the vomit smell right away! I just put it in a spray bottle and directly applied to the area. Good luck! (12/24/2006)

Kids N Pets Instant All Purpose Stain and Odor Remover works wonders. Gets rid of the rotten milk smell. I've bought it at our local grocery store and Walmart. (03/17/2008)
