This Japanese seaweed salad is very popular anywhere sushi is served. Since I've been eating these salads since I was a kid, I roll my eyes at the prices marked on them because I know a huge batch can be made for under a buck. Wakame seaweed is not only tasty, it is packed full of calcium, iron, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, magnesium, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin D, vitamin E, vitamin K, and vitamins B2 and B9.
If you're using dried wakame, soak it in water for a few minutes, then drain before preparing.

I love seaweed salad. Where do you find the fresh seaweed? I've never seen it for sale.
I get it at Asian supermarkets (there are so many around here) and have seen it at Whole Foods, but you can also get dried ones from Amazon (and many other online shops) and soak them in water. It will be just as good:
