Does anyone know if there is a connection between a power outage and a washing machine (Whirlpool Model LSB6000PQ2) suddenly making a gnawing noise during the spin cycle? What can I do about this that doesn't cost me a new washer?
Thanks for your help!

There is no connection between the power outage and your machine. Unfortunately, if sounds like your machine will need some major repair. Our washer had the same sound and nothing we could do helped the situation. A washer repair person checked it and recommended we buy a new machine as the repair would be almost as expensive as a new machine.
Our washing machine was making a squealing noise during the spin cycle. I called a repair man. He found a piece of wire that came out of my husband's pocket during the washing and went through one of the drain holes in the drum.
