Waterproof Bee or Wasp Repellent?

I am allergic of bee stings, I see too many bees and wasps in the swimming pool. Is there any waterproof repellent that will keep them away from me.

I do not believe so. I have never heard of one. Usually bees will not bother you if you do not bother them. Wasps are more aggressive, but they are usually not a problem near ponds or swimming pools. Repellents are not effective for bees, hornets and wasps.

Wasps will build nests under the top rail and inside the wall posts of above ground pools.

I have been told by many people, if you put vinegar in your pool water it will repel bees. They are attracted to open water sources, but if that source is contaminated, with say vinegar or peppermint essential oils, they will stay away from it.

Make sure to keep your pool covered when it's not in use.

you would have to use so much that it would affect the ph of the pool

Go to your local pool store and get a product called Skillit. It is an algaecide used in pools. The reason the bees/hornet come is for water, they are able to float on the water to drink.
The skillet changes the surface tension in the water so they can't float... as soon as they start to touch the water they feel they can't float and fly away. Dose weekly with Skillit until they stop coming around after a few months you MAY be able to stop as they will have found a better place (and most likely made homes closer to THat other water source.

Then if they start to come back... just start using the product again.
DO NOT add dishsoap thinking it does the same thing... you may end up with phosphate issues from the soap
