Cook the rice without salt or butter according to package directions.
Cook beef in 10 inch skillet over medium high heat until well browned, stirring often to break up the meat. Pour off any fat.
Stir 2 cups of the sauce and all the rice into the skillet.
Cut each pepper in half lengthwise. Discard seeds and white membranes. Place the empty pepper shells in a 17x11 inch roasting pan.
Spoon the beef mixture into pepper shells. Pour the remaining sauce over the filled peppers. Cover the pan.
Bake at 400 degrees F for 45 minutes or until peppers are tender. Top with cheese. Let stand 5 minutes or until cheese is melted.
